Eliza

Evelyn (the protagonist) talking to Rainer, the CEO, who pushes towards a technological extreme for humanity’s future

Visual novel within a mega tech company engineering a worldwide IT solution to depression. Protagonist is a “proxy”, or a human actor, embodying Eliza, an AI digital therapist. Protagonist is also a former top engineer at that same company, still in contact with CEO and other VIPs. All of them have very different views on the company, the problem it solves, and even humanity.

For most of the game, your dialogue choices are trivial, reflecting the character’s world weariness. That makes the enormous decisions at the end all the more powerful. In a way, the whole game is a setup to feel the weight of those decisions.

It has great voice acting and takes just a few evenings to finish. No skill or computer knowledge is required, and not too “crazy”, so it can be played by normal people also.

I would mostly compare it to the movie “Her” (2013).
