Hoarders: You already own all games on all digital platforms

Less then 5% of “my” “games”. My in quotes because I only own a license; games in quotes because a game is not a game until it’s played.

I’ve known it long ago, but knowledge itself wasn’t enough to stop hoarding games on sale or in irresistible bundles.

Example: If you spend 20€ on sales and bundles every month, in 10 years you will have spent 2400€.

For 2400€ you could have bought, at a full price, 20 AAA games, 50 mid-tier games, and 50 smaller games. If, in 10 years, you play all these games, it’s a rich gaming experience. You will have played exactly what you wanted, when you wanted.

Hoarding accomplishes “having” everything, but are often in a mood for nothing in particular – at least for me personally. There is just not enough time for anything but the games you most want – if even that.

Considering this, you no longer need to “possess” games offered on sales and in bundles, since now you know that, for exactly the same amount of money, you can have a completely personal library of not just installable games, but actual experiences.
